Privacy Policy
Omotenashi Guide collects nothing about you. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, and the app makes no network requests at all. This page explains what that means in detail.
What stays on your device
The app remembers three things, stored locally on your phone and nowhere else: the language you chose, the manners you saved to Favourites, and which checklist items you have ticked. Deleting the app deletes all of it. None of it is ever transmitted.
What the app never does
It does not create an account or ask for an email address. It does not contain an analytics or crash-reporting SDK. It does not show ads. It does not read your contacts, photos, location or calendar. It does not send any data anywhere, because it makes no network requests — the entire guide is bundled with the app and works with your phone in airplane mode.
Your device language
On first launch the app reads your device language setting so it can open in a language you can read. That reading happens on the device and the result is not sent anywhere.
Sharing a quiz result
When you tap Share on a quiz result, the app draws an image on your device and hands it to your operating system’s share sheet. You choose what happens next. The app has no knowledge of what you picked, and the image is never uploaded to us.
This website
The web edition of the guide is static pages with no cookies, no tracking scripts and no embedded third-party content. The hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs, such as IP addresses and requested pages, for security and traffic counting. We do not combine those logs with anything else or use them to identify individuals.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and, since it collects no data at all, it collects none from children either.
Changes
If the app ever starts collecting anything, this page will say so before that version ships, and the change will be described here rather than quietly amended.
